Hosting and server logs

This website runs on Hostraum's own infrastructure and is delivered through Cloudflare. When you access it, technically necessary connection data is processed. This may include your IP address, time of access, requested address, transfer status, amount of data transferred, referrer, browser and device information.

Processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to provide the website securely, reliably and with protection against abuse. Origin logs are rotated daily and retained for no more than 14 rotations unless a security incident requires longer retention.

Cloudflare

Cloudflare provides encrypted delivery, network protection and mitigation of abusive traffic. Cloudflare processes connection data as our processor. Depending on traffic routing, processing may take place outside the European Union; Cloudflare uses appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

Automatic language selection

Cloudflare associates the requesting IP address with a two-letter country code. We only distinguish between “Germany” and “outside Germany” to serve the German or English version. Hostraum does not store a location for this purpose and uses neither a language cookie nor local browser storage. Processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is to deliver an understandable version of the site.

Contact by email

If you contact us by email, we process the information you provide to answer your request and possible follow-up questions. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual or contractual matters and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR in other cases.

No marketing cookies or analytics

This website uses no audience analytics, advertising pixels, social media embeds or non-essential cookies. Fonts and images are served directly from our own domain.

Your rights

Subject to the statutory requirements, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. An email to the address above is sufficient to exercise your rights.
